Ready to roll
After ten weeks of hair-pulling, begging and crying we are finally set to leave. The paperwork that has made my life a nightmare for so long is almost complete, bar my Iranian visa – which I hope to get en-route in Istanbul. The website is all but finished (thanks Donny and Jon), the bikes are clad in their hard luggage (ta Paul) and we are ready to sling a leg over.
The first leg? A mighty 70 miles from Peterborough down to Hatfield for an overnight stop, before the M25/M2 drudgery to Dover. We hope to reach the foothills of the Alps by Thursday evening and will move up to the Mont Blanc area the following day.
I’ll have to leave it at that for now, because we’ve still got a lot to do before we ride away from the utter chaos my life has become.
